SOUL & ART, SAFED, ISRAEL: This is the Place

Myrna Katz Frommer and Harvey Frommer

By Myrna Katz Frommer and Harvey Frommer

We returned home from more than four months in Israel interviewing and researching for a book on the miraculous nation. We were barely settled in when we came back to our house after doing chores.

A huge package from DHL, almost as big as a small person, was wet and soggy and propped against an area near our front door. Annoyed and puzzled, we checked out the package -- it was art we had purchased in our last week in Israel. DHL was notified promptly of their inefficiency, stupidity and carelessness. The company, which we will never use, had no excuses for not doing the right thing.

Fortunately, however, the Soul and Art Gallery in Safed, Israel had come through as promised. The package they sent was doubly protected against the elements and careless actions of shippers.

Toval Sade, Owner

Centrally located at the entrance of the Artist colony, the eclectic  gallery features works by  Marc Chagall, Yaakov Agam, Ben Avraham, Schluss, Naomi Schindler, Itsik Ben Shalom, Nicky Imber, Dorit Gur, Dror Cohen and other top names as well as beginning artists. Each piece of Art is sold at the artist´s price. And the best news is the art is exempt from tax for  foreign citizens and there is no fee for shipping.

All kinds of wonderful art

The Marc Chagall Lithograph

The pride and joy of our various purchases is a Marc Chagall lithograph that hangs in a place of prominence in our dining room and makes us think of the unforgettable trip to Israel and also the professionalism of the Soul and Art Gallery. No wonder the operation is recommended by the Israel Ministry of Tourism and is the Official Exhibitor of Safed’s artists.
