Review: Outback Chair

By: Kellie K. Speed

Just when you thought summer was almost over, Outback Chair Company gives you an extra reason to hang out and relax in the back yard for an extra few months.

The Outback Quilted Fabric Hammock never falters in its devotion to slow motion. Once you set the unit up (which is extremely simple), you can quickly drift away on a bed of exquisitely comfortable quilted all-weather fabric. Your whole family can take turns hanging out and relaxing on this heavenly happening.

Setting up the unit couldn?t be easier. Simply select the area and anchor points to mount the unit. It must be approximately 15 feet apart and include two load bearing vertical beams such as trees.

Drill a small hole for each of the two screw hooks, about four to five feet above the ground. The mounting hardware that is included is designed specifically for installation with solid wood, not brick or metal. Once you have drilled the holes, insert the screw hook into the pilot hole and tighten until the eye of the screw is touching the surface of the hole and the threads are completely embedded in the wood.

Now, you can easily hang the quilted fabric hammock on the installed hardware. If you have found that the anchor points are too far apart, you may have to attach an additional piece of chain or rope to extend the reach of the hammock.

The unit is comprised of 600 x 600 Poly Waterproof and is UV Resistant and quilted for comfort. One of the best aspects of this unit is the 10 year unconditional warranty that comes along with the purchase.

The quilted hammock is easy to wash as well. Simply use a soft brush with warm soapy water and scrub where necessary, allowing the unit to dry on a flat surface or outside. Beware not to put the unit in the washing machine as it is not machine washable.

Outback Chair Company is the creator of the original Air Chair, which has redefined the concept of relaxation. This chair can be adjusted so your legs are raised above your chest, which is ideal for better circulation. You can set this chair up either inside or outside on a porch, deck or patio.

The quilted fabric hammock retails for $169.95. For more information on the quilted hammock or the Air Chair and to purchase these units, visit Outback Chair Company?s website at or call (800) 444-7998.
