Tunisia took part, for the third time, as chief guest, in the Anvers traditional holidays show held currently from January 27 to February 4, 2001 at Anvers Exhibitions Hall (Belgium).

On this occasion, Tunisia's ambassador in Brussels praised the fidelity shown to Tunisia by the organizers of the show, the most important tourist professionals event in Belgium, and the interest demonstrated by the main tour operators present in this event to keep up and develop the position held by Tunisia on the Belgian tourist market. Africa And Arab Airlines In Pact

The African Airline Association will work together with the Arab Air Carriers Organization to promote the welfare of their members. Mr Teffaha Abdul Wahab, the Secretary-General of Aaco, whose headquarters are in Beirut, Lebanon, was in Nairobi to seal the deal.

His host, Mr Christian Folly-Kossi, the Secretary-General of the Nairobi-based Afraa said the cooperation would benefit member airlines. "Our top priority is for our member airlines to work together closely in the areas of environmental development, computer reservation system, slot allocation, international representation, joint projects and
cross-organization co-ordination," said Mr Wahab.

Afraa was established in 1968 in Accra, Ghana and plays a unifying role for member airlines by promoting cooperation, offering consultancy services such as training, and defending their interests.

Aaco was established in 1965 by a decision of the Arab League of Nations. Under the joint projects, member airlines have joint computer systems, joint fuel purchasing as well as joint ground handling systems. The associations are now embarking on e-commerce and marketing for their members
