Being a top steakhouse in Boston means standing out from a tough
competition. Thats exactly what The Capital Grille has done.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, located at Bostons elite
Newbury Street, you know you have just entered someplace unique.
The Capital Grille boasts a high profile clientele, making it one of
the top places in Boston to see and be seen.
We were seated in the restaurants Wine Room and given a jumbo
menu to look over.
After visiting The Capital Grille in Providence and receiving
enormous portions there, we knew what to expect. Large menus equal large portions.
We sampled the jumbo shrimp cocktail which was tender and fresh. Our server presented us
both with individual cocktail sauces, lemons and horseradish sauce. We also ordered the
lobster and crab cakes, which were light and crispy, served with a small mixed salad.
The menu is served a la carte style but each item is served with the
heartiest of appetites in mind.
Salads here are huge. We sampled the sliced tomato and onion salad,
which could have been shared between two people. The salad was fresh with a light
vinaigrette dressing topped with chunks of bleu cheese.
Even though you can get carried away with all the tempting
appetizers, be sure to save room for the reason you came here - the aged steaks.
We ordered the filet mignon, a mouthwatering piece of the finest beef
in town and the Porterhouse, which was cooked to perfection. We shared an order of mashed
potatoes, a baked potato and fresh mushrooms.
The Capital Grille also offers a wide selection of seafood and other
selections but dont miss out on these steaks.
If you have room, be sure to try the desserts here. They will soon
become as famous as the steaks have become!
The Capital Grille is an excellent place to go for a special occasion
or just a night on the town. The relaxed atmosphere invites guests to enjoy their meals
without feeling rushed. I cant wait to go back again!
