Out of This World: Virgin-Atlantic Airways

A trip of a lifetime awaiting us: New York City to India to London and back to New York City.

Exciting, grueling, lengthy -  one where we wanted everything to go especially smoothly.

In a world of travel more times than we could care to remember things did not work well. So we knew we needed a world class airlines where we would be assured everything worked, where we would be catered to.

Our choice Virgin Atlantic!

From the bookings, to the lounges, to all the staff members who assisted us, to the clean and carefully cared for planes and cabins we enjoyed spending long hours in . . . everything was top drawer.

We flew Upper Class. And though long distance flying is never any fun, being there softened the bumps.

In June, 2009, Virgin-Atlantic and Sir Richard Branson celebrated its 25th anniversary and continued to stake its claim as one of the most awarded, most popular and most favorites of airlines.

Six years before Virgin launched “Upper Class” along with the longest and most comfortable flat beds in all Business Class anywhere. In 2006, the Heathrow Virgin Clubhouse was inaugurated with its cocktail bar, its hair salon and its glitz, glamour and roominess.

We experienced all of the above going to Mumbai and returning via Delhi.  And once again while the travel was grueling, Virgin’s amenities and splendid staff smoothed out the edges.

Their motto says: “Prepare to be spoilt rotten” and we were.

Superb service and good food on board the planes, caring personnel, over the top ambience - -all of these make the Virgin-Atlantic experience out of this world.
